The Most Simple Way to Get More Comments on Your Blog

Let's talk for a few minutes about how to get more comments on your blog. Why? Because a well commented, interactive and engaged audience will almost INVARIABLY lead to a bigger, better and RICHER bottom line for you. As a matter of fact, there are some scripts out there that will TRACK the relationships between people who COMMENT on your blog, and people who spend MONEY on your services...and the relationship is almost always a strong one!

The easiest way to get comments on your blog is NOT to run a commenting competition. (as I saw someone else recommend on another article) It's NOT to be sneaky, slippery or any other snarky strategy for a short term burst in interest. (or engagement)

It's to RESPOND to the comments that other people leave. Say "thank you". Respond to questions. Address concerns. And MOST importantly.....ASK questions. A blog that is a monologue is often a recipe for disaster. People don't want to read long, lengthy treatise's by any blogger, especially if there is no sense of conversation, or community thereafter.

Here is a GREAT way that I see some "A" list bloggers generate tons of comments, and often, in my view....using a pretty "straw man" approach.

Say something super controversial. Or...better yet, they'll create an anonymous commenter who makes an outrageous statement or claim, or even an attack on the proprietor of the blog altogether. What happens next? You got it.....the TRIBE will come out in a show of force, shouting down the nefarious nonsense from the dissenting commenter (which in my opinion, are often MANUFACTURED for this purpose..:-) and the mob mentality takes over, with comment after comment coming in rapid fire turn around time, all adding a sense of unity, togetherness and community to your content.

Remember this: People respond BEST to controversy. To confrontation. And quite frankly.....to COMEDY! Be entertaining. Be remarkable. And be hospitable! Not only will you get lots of comments, but people will love your content, and keep coming back for more as well.
